so that he may not see the light
How many of you out there still thinks that McCoy does the old “Merry meet and merry part. And merry meet again” and the “Blessed Be” stuff?
I certainly can’t imagine him dancing “skyclad” around a fire! Can you!? 🤣
I would assume then that those that do might be in for a surprise. This page only gently touches on the subject, it is a very comprehensive theme and one I don’t have the time [or knowledge] to explain in its entirety!
I believe McCoy is more of a Luciferian or Satanist [yes, there is a difference] than a pagan and that he possibly [follows or] leans towards the left-hand path. He probably doesn’t follow it particularly strictly but his leaning does appear to be towards the LHP. Yes, I know he is friendly with Adam Darski a self-confessed Satanist, and that he has had contact with others who follow the LHP but I’m not making my assumptions based on these relationships. Watch him, listen to his lyrics, he does have a dark [not black] side. I know he has an interest in Chaos magick but that’s just an attitude really as it has little or no set ritual/s, [ritual seems to be important to him] no deities or any other objects of faith. I posted on another page about the hexagram he wears, and then there’s his use of the unicursal hexagram whilst performing on stage. It’s all looking quite plausible.
We all know McCoy has a keen interest in Greek and Babylonian mythology and history.
Lucifer is the Latin name for the planet Venus [the dawn bringer].
The Sumerian goddess Inanna [known as Ishtar by the Akkadians and Babylonians] is associated with the planet Venus. When you really get into reading about it, it’s very interesting stuff.
In the Babylonian myth of Etana. The Jewish Encyclopedia comments:
The brilliancy of the morning star, which eclipses all other stars, but is not seen during the night, may easily have given rise to a myth such as was told of Ethana and Zu: “he was led by his pride to strive for the highest seat among the star-gods on the northern mountain of the gods … but was hurled down by the supreme ruler of the Babylonian Olympus.” – Sound familiar?
Don’t worry too much, Satanism is not about sacrificing animals or babies [that’s shock value for movies, newspaper articles books and it’s also Bible propaganda!]. Satanism is much more than that. As for Lucifer he’s seen not as the devil, but is described as [sic Venus] the bringer of light, the morning star, a liberator, Son Of The Dawn/Morning. I think to understand Luciferians and Satanists, people need to throw out that old mindset of evil devil worshippers! The text above [in orange] has links about this. Wikipedia also has some interesting reading on these subjects.
I know McCoy was once asked to explain about his views on Paganism and Wicca for a TV program, but he was very young then; I think his philosophy has now moved on.
In The Real McCoy I covered aspects of his strict religious upbringing and he himself has spoken about how Birthdays and Christmas/Yule were never celebrated in his household. In the Satanic Bible, Birthdays are the most celebrated of all the religious holidays. Once again, we can see how the Left Hand Path calls to him, this would be very appealing to someone whose life growing up must have felt really quite lonely.
